Still carrying the weight of the past? EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a proven, effective therapy that helps the brain reprocess painful memories so they no longer feel overwhelming. It’s used to treat trauma related symptoms such as anxiety, depression, phobias, and more.
My Approach
I am Aroosha Sanchez, LMFT, providing online EMDR therapy in California, and based out of San Jose. I am passionate about working with complex trauma and its far-reaching effects. I approach this work with care, patience, and a deep respect for each person’s story. As a licensed therapist trained in EMDR and attachment, somatic, and relational based approaches, I work thoughtfully with the emotional, nervous system, and relational impacts of trauma. I believe healing happens in a safe, attuned relationship, at a pace that is safe and feels right for you, and I strive to offer a steady, compassionate space where you can explore, grow, and reconnect with yourself.
EMDR uses bilateral stimulation—like eye movements or tapping—while you focus on a distressing memory. This helps the brain “unstick” the experience, shifting how it’s stored so it no longer triggers intense emotional reactions.
You don’t have to talk through every detail. The process is structured, gentle, and led at your pace.
Trauma (recent or childhood)
Anxiety and panic
Grief and loss
Relationship wounds
Low self-esteem
Chronic shame or inner criticism
Depression
Many clients feel relief faster than with traditional talk therapy. EMDR is especially helpful if you’ve felt stuck, numb, reactive, or like you’ve “already talked about it” but nothing changes.
